UCSC Graduation Portrait Session | UC.Santa Cruz Campus
Leanna’s graduation portrait session at UC Santa Cruz was such a meaningful way to celebrate her finishing a degree in art, especially in a place that has been such a big part of her creative journey. We spent the session moving all over campus, using the unique mix of redwoods, open views, and architectural details that make UCSC such an iconic place for graduation photos. Since she studied art, there was something really fitting about creating portraits in a space that naturally feels so visually rich and inspiring. The campus itself becomes part of the story—layered light through the trees, long pathways, and quiet corners that feel both academic and grounded in nature. We focused on keeping the session relaxed and fluid, letting Leanna move through familiar spaces in a way that felt natural rather than overly posed. Graduation sessions always carry a really special energy because they hold both reflection and momentum at the same time. There’s pride in everything that’s been accomplished, but also that quiet shift into whatever comes next. At UCSC, that feeling feels even more present, surrounded by the redwoods and ocean air. Leanna brought such an easy, thoughtful presence to the session, which made it really natural to focus on candid movement and subtle moments rather than anything too structured. It felt less like staging photos and more like documenting a season of completion in a place that helped shape her creatively. If you’re looking for a Santa Cruz graduation photographer for UCSC senior portraits or college graduation sessions, I’d love to create something that feels natural, personal, and connected to your story.
